Surgery of Truncus Arteriosus -A Case Report-

Abstract

|
Truncus arteriosus is a rare congenital heart disease and has na unfavorable natural course. We experienced a case of truncus type ¥² assciated with muscular type VSD & secondum type ASD. The patient was 49-day-old baby & the chief complaints
were
respiratory difficulty with cyanosis and poor reeding.
Under moderate hypothermia with conventional cardiopulmonary-bypass, we transsected ascending aorta, both pulmonary arteries brought anterior to the aorta using Lecompte's maneuver. Both pulmonary artery & RVOT were reconstructed with monocuspid
bovine
pericardium.
The patient recovered without problems & discharged on postoperative 11 th day.
